These Cities Are Infested With Bed Bugs

Over the next month, thousands of people will be traveling. It could be to go visit family for the holidays, or you could escape with the family to a vacation destination.

One of the most popular travel destinations that Montana residents like to visit apparently has been overtaken by bed bugs.

Are Bed Bugs Dangerous?

I have never had an experience with bed bugs, but I've had some co-workers that have, and from their stories it sounds horrific.

Not because they are particularly dangerous or anything, but because they are almost impossible to get rid of.

Worse yet, they travel very well. So if you're planning a holiday excursion to the place we're talking about, don't be surprised if you bring home some unwanted guests.

Orkin Ranks Cities With The Most Bed Bugs

The pest control experts at Orkin each year put out a list of the 50 cities with the most bed bug infestations, and luckily no Montana cities are on that list.

Yet thanks to cheap flights out of Montana, one of the most popular cities that Montanans travel to ended up on their list.

That would be Las Vegas, Nevada, which came in as the #35 city with the most bed bugs.

It's not the only place that Montana residents could decide to travel to this holiday season, however, so if you're thinking of going on a holiday vacation this year, make sure to look for the telltale signs of rust-colored blood spots on the bed along with checking the cracks and crevices of the bed.

LOOK: The Official U.S. Government 'Do Not Travel' List

Traveling to unique and exotic places rather than the usual tourist traps can be quite an adventure. However, it's crucial to research your destination thoroughly.

While every trip comes with some degree of risk, requiring you to mind your surroundings and take some precautions, there are some places you just shouldn't visit, as they are not worth the risk.

The United States government has a convenient website that helps by listing travel advisories they have in place for countries all over the world, ranking the risk from Level 1 through Level 4.

If a country is issued a Level 4 advisory, you should NOT travel there. As of November 2024, the countries below are on the 'Do Not Travel' list.
